Available spots
Service Description
To climb all the Welsh mountains over 3000 feet is one of the country's great long mountain walks - 50km of walking and nearly 4000m of ascent. To do this in 24 hours is a huge challenge and will take between 18 and 22 hours (total time including ascent to first peak and descent from last peak). Your legs might feel it for a few days though! The record for running them belongs to Finlay Wild who managed it in a staggering 4 hours and 10 minutes! Our day will start with a meet up in Bethesda and then transport will be provided to the start at Pen y Pass. The route will finish back in Bethesda and transport back to your car. The route will take us over Crib Goch and onto Snowdon before descending directly to Nant Peris. Big climb then to the summit of Elidir Fawr and over the Glyderau and Tryfan. Another big climb to Pen yr Ole Wen then over the remaining 5 summits before the long but easy walk down to Bethesda. This is a BIG day and not to be underestimated. What's Included: Guiding all the way from experienced local leaders with several 15 Peaks traverses under their belts. - Parking in Bethesda - Transport to start - saves faffing at end of the day. - Support vehicle at road crossings (Nant Peris and Ogwen). Here you can leave food supplies, energy drinks and spare clothing. We will provide water but not food. - Advice and top tips on what to wear, eat and how to prepare. This is a long day on a varied, often steep mountain terrain. There will be grade 1 scrambling, steep climbs and sections on loose ground- excellent physical fitness and experience of mountain walking over steep, loose, slippery ground is essential. Please think carefully before booking on - If you have only climbed a single mountain in a day, for example Snowdon, think about how you felt at the end. This event is the equivalent of climbing Snowdon about 5 times in a day but on rougher ground. There will be a time out if you don't reach Ogwen Valley after the Glyderau by 1700. If you are looking for a big challenge this could be for you! https://www.snowdoniawalkingandclimbing.co.uk/terms-conditions
