Had a good run of scrambling days over the last week or so including another Matterhorn Training weekend working for High Mountain Guides, helping Steve and Gordon prepare for a future climb of the Matterhorn. We made the most of some pretty wet weather on the Saturday with some low level climbing and scrambling in the Ogwen Valley. A morning at Little Tryfan concentrating on some movement skills and climbing in stiff mountaineering boots, as well as some down climbing and lowering. We then moved to Milestone Buttress and did the Grade 3 scramble and down climbed the grade 2 Milestone Gully.
Sunday dawned just as wet and a bit windier. Looking for a longer mountain journey we headed up to Idwal Slabs and climbed the Ordinary Route, Senior's Ridge Direct before continuing up a very breezy Cneifion Arete. A classic link up of routes with around 350m of climbing and scrambling. Pretty challenging conditions all weekend with the weather and some very slippery rock. Good luck with the big climb guys.
